Is Global Warming a SCAM?

Fox News recently mentioned an article about global warming:

"The founder of the Weather Channel is ridiculing Al Gore over his calls for action on global climate change, saying in a column that global warming is a "hoax" and "bad science." John Coleman, now a weatherman at San Diego's KUSI, wrote on his station's Web site Wednesday that Gore refuses to acknowledge the faulty research on which the idea of global warming is based.

"I am totally convinced there is no scientific basis for any of it," Coleman wrote, describing the decades-old theory that increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere leads to global warming.

"Global Warming. It is the hoax. It is bad science. It is a high jacking of public policy. It is no joke. It is the greatest scam in history," Coleman wrote."

You can read John Coleman's article here!

Saving the Economy?

"The U.S. House voted to spend more than a trillion dollars of your money, but how much of that will actually go toward bolstering the economy? Stuart Shepard and Tom Minnery discuss some of the dubious items in the economic stimulus bill."

Pendragon Dove Review!

The goal of the Dove Foundation: To encourage and promote the creation, production, distribution and consumption of wholesome family entertainment.

"In 1991 The Dove Foundation began promoting family-friendly entertainment. Our standards and criteria are based on Judeo/Christian values, free from the pressure of commercial interests. We believe in a positive approach of commending high-quality, wholesome movies rather than condemning filmmakers for not meeting those standards."

You can read the review here!

I'd encourage you to buy the DVD or download it from Behemoth, if you haven't already!

New Product Rumors

I find it humorous at times how people can really play up rumors about the "new thing" that is coming when it in fact it is nothing but a rumor.

This article has a good guess at the next new thing device from....Apple! Enjoy!!

"I’m getting ahead of the curve to reveal that, after close inspection of the photograph, I can report on Apple’s latest cool new device. No doubt they thought it was too far back to appear in the photo. The fools! And now I can scoop all the rumor-mongers and post it myself. Remember, you read it here first…"

Fireproof - WSJ

The Wall Street Journal published an article about Fireproof.

"Through a purely Hollywood lens, "Fireproof" is the most unlikely film success since "Rocky." It was written by novice screenwriters, cast nearly entirely with amateurs, staffed largely by volunteers, and shot almost all on location. It wrapped for a total outlay of only $500,000.

But that's where God provides a different prism. The movie, about a Christian fire captain who recommits to his marriage, collected more than $33 million -- and was the biggest-grossing indie movie of 2008 -- precisely because it was produced by a church in Albany, Ga., which then networked with other evangelicals and with Roman Catholics to create enormous grass-roots demand."

Pendragon Poem

The Exploitation of Dan and Me
By Andrew Burns

Dedicated to our awesome extras who made Pendragon possible

There were strange things done
Under the sun
In the quest for San Antone;
The production trails
Have their secret tales
That would turn your heart to stone.

The studio lights
Have seen cruel sights,
But the cruelest they ever did see,
Was the way that Chad
And his Uncle and Dad
Exploited Dan and me.

We read on the net
Of a movie set,
And a film that they were a makin’
And if we came,
They promised fame,
And the glory was ours for the takin’

With our chance so near,
We left with our gear,
Which was little more than our clothes,
And we talked all the way,
Of the parts we would play,
And the size of our starring roles.

Does Hollywood Love Christians Now?

"After my first feature film Hometown Legend had been sold to Warner Brothers, I had some meetings with the WB marketing team in 2001. Near the end of their presentation, I said, “Now you know that this film has some faith elements in it, and my Dad (the executive producer) wrote the Left Behind books, so we could take advantage of his fan base and also promote the film to churches and youth groups.” After an awkward pause where I assume they were expecting me to explain myself, they had two questions: “What are the Left Behind books, and what are youth groups?”"

I came across this article by Dallas Jenkins the other day and was curious to know what his answer would be...you'll have to read it to find out for yourself.

BEST OF FESTIVAL: THE WIDOW'S MIGHT

Well it's finally over! The Academy was incredible with sessions about Sci-Fi From a Biblical Worldview, Behind the Scenes of Fireproof, Color Correction, Stunts and Violence in Films, All About the RED Camera and of course the theological sessions.

The Festival was also really good this year with a overall improvement in the technical quality of the films in the competition! Even though my trailer, along Pendragon, didn't win anything it was still an enjoyable festival. There are a good number of the films available for download at Behemoth.com. Several of my favorite films were Pendragon, Fireproof, The Widow's Might, Dad the Hero, Dialtone, A Collection of Fortunate Happenings, Council's Commission and Wars of Humanity III.
